The Sun Prairie Optimist Club invites local youth to share their voice, reflect on service, and explore what community means to them through our annual Essay Writing Contest.
This contest celebrates youth leadership, service, and thoughtful reflection — and offers students the opportunity to earn recognition and prizes for their work.
Essay Topic
“How My Acts of Service Help Me Understand What My Community Means to Me”
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline: February 15, 2026
Eligibility
- Open to youth under 19 years of age as of October 1, 2026
- Participants must reside in or attend school in the Sun Prairie area
Essay Requirements
- Essays should reflect the student’s personal experiences, insights, and understanding of service and community
- Essays must follow official contest rules and formatting guidelines
How to Enter
- Students must download the official rules & entry form (PDF) and follow all contest guidelines
- Complete your essay
- Submit your completed entry form and essay by email to:
